I plan on doing my yard next weekend with some pre-emergent for the first time ever, so Im kind of excited to have less weeds in my lawn.

However, I was just reading that whatever dandelions that appear in my yard are ones that germinated over the winter. This means that the pre-emergent that I apply wont be effective at stopping them from growing (this year at least).

My question is, assuming I apply Dithiopyr next weekend, and then some Prodiamine around August/September, will this be enough to prevent the dandelions from appearing NEXT year? I would assume it would, but I would appreciate anyone with first hand experience to chime in.
