Come spring time I plan on using a pre-emergent for the first time. This is what my research tells me, please provide input if I screwed something up.

From my research, if you are not doing a spring seeding:

Dithiopyr is the chemical you use. Cheapest Dithiopyr granular I could find[1]. Dithiopyr controls: Crabgrass, barnyardgrass, bluegrass (annual, roughstalk), crowfootgrass, foxtail, goosegrass, kikuyugrass, ryegrass, (annual and perennial), smutgrass, lespedeza (common), oxalis (buttercup, creeping and yellow woodsorrel), purslane (common), speedwell.

Prodiamine is the other well known chemical. Cheapest Prodiamine granular I could find[2]. Prodiamine controls: barnyardgrass; bluegrass, annual (Poa annua); carpetweed; chickweed, common; chickweed, ...
